DACA Biometrics: Appointments, Photos and Next Steps
Take your I-797C appointment notice, every notice if you received more than one, and valid photo ID. [USCIS] If you cannot attend, ask to reschedule online at least 12 hours before the appointment and give a good reason. [USCIS] Do not turn up at another ASC without rescheduling first; it will not handle your appointment. [USCIS]
What you can do now
Bring every I-797C biometrics appointment notice you received and valid photo ID. [USCIS]
Check what to bringIf you cannot attend, request a change online at least 12 hours beforehand and give a good reason. If fewer than 12 hours remain or you missed it, call 800-375-5283 (TTY 800-767-1833) or use Emma. [USCIS]

Appointment notice and documents
USCIS sends an appointment notice if an Application Support Center (ASC) visit is required for biometric services on your DACA request.
Bring your ASC appointment notice, Form I-797C. If you received multiple biometrics appointment notices, bring all of them.
Bring valid photo identification to your ASC appointment.
Missing a required biometrics appointment may delay a DACA request or lead to denial. Q52 also says missing or rescheduling an appointment makes processing take longer.
daca-tracker reported that 96% of new submissions in 2026 required a biometrics appointment: 3,000 of 3,113 cases with data, checked October 15, 2026.
These are self-reported data from daca-tracker, checked on October 15, 2026. They do not represent USCIS and cannot establish an individual probability.
Rescheduling or missing a visit
Ask to change your appointment through your USCIS online account before the original date and time. You must give USCIS a good reason for changing it.
Online rescheduling requests must be made at least 12 hours before the appointment. If fewer than 12 hours remain or you already missed it, call 800-375-5283 (TTY 800-767-1833) or chat with Emma.
To attend a different ASC, request rescheduling in advance and select that location. An ASC other than the one on your notice will not process your appointment if you arrive without rescheduling.
If you do not follow the rescheduling requirements and do not attend the original appointment, USCIS may treat the application or request as abandoned and deny it.
At the ASC
At the ASC, you provide biometrics on machines designed to collect that information.
Your digital signature confirms under penalty of perjury that the application and its supporting documents were complete, true and correct when filed.
For Form I-765, USCIS also uses your biometrics to produce your EAD.
If you do not understand spoken English, USCIS says you should bring someone who can translate. The ASC acknowledgment statement is available in English and Spanish.
Photo reuse
USCIS may reuse a photo collected at a biometric services appointment if, when you file, no more than 36 months have passed since it was taken. Photo reuse is not allowed for Forms N-400, N-600, I-90 or I-485.
After biometrics
The cited sources do not provide a reliable number of days from biometrics to approval. The renewal goal below is not a post-biometrics countdown. You can view the separate approval estimator for a rough reference.
USCIS states a goal of processing DACA renewal requests within 120 days; this is a goal, not a promise for an individual request.
USCIS says you may submit an online status inquiry after a DACA renewal request has been pending for more than 105 days.
